Students will apply their learning by writing spot news pieces, profiles, and longer form articles. The course is modular, so you will build basic skills one at a time while. Penalty for late assignments and tardiness: Many of the major written graded assignments and all daily in-class assignments are to be completed within the minute class period.

When a student is absent from class, thus missing an assignment, and later turns in the missed assignment to the instructor, the assignment grade is penalized by ten points per day for each class day occurring from the assignment date until and including the date the work is submitted.
